Penalties and warnings on the live leaderboard

Warnings and penalties from the official Telegram channel @pitstopendurance appear on the live race page. Previously a penalty would only reach the site after a manual export by a manager — now it happens automatically within about 10 seconds.

How it works

The service monitors the channel around the clock. Each new message is automatically matched to the active race by kartodrome, and the warning appears on the leaderboard without any manager action. If the channel admin edits or deletes a message — the change will also reach the site within the next polling cycle (about 15 seconds).

How to read the indicators

  • A tag appears next to the car number in the leaderboard row.
  • Stop&Go — mandatory pit stop. Without serving it the result is not counted.
  • Warning — violation logged without a time penalty. A second warning in the same race usually escalates to a Stop&Go.
  • Return position — instruction to let an opponent through after an improper overtake.

The penalty count on the "Penalties" tab

The number next to a pilot on the "Penalties" tab is that pilot's penalty count across all of their counted races in our database, not just this race. It is not counted on the fly — it comes from a nightly metrics recompute, so it can lag a few hours behind a penalty that just appeared in the feed above.

  • "—" — means one of three things: the count has not been computed by the current nightly cycle yet; the pilot's name matches another pilot in our database and we cannot reliably tell which of them the count belongs to; or the pilot from the broadcast could not be matched to any pilot in our database at all (for example, the name is spelled differently in the broadcast than in our records). In all three cases the site deliberately hides the number rather than showing a zero or someone else's count.
  • "0" — a confirmed zero penalties for the pilot across all of their counted races in our database — not "in this race", but their whole career. The number won't change from race to race if the pilot genuinely has no recorded penalties. Not the same as "—".

What to do if a penalty has not appeared

If the message is in the channel but not on the leaderboard — most likely the active race has not yet appeared in our catalogue. The service will automatically pick up such messages within 10 minutes once the race becomes visible. If the situation persists for more than half an hour — write to @kartracers_support.
